Engineering Technician
Job Posting for Engineering Technician at Interstate Engineering
This position will be responsible for performing a wide array of duties for design projects, such as: water distribution systems, site developments, pump stations and reservoirs, sewer collection systems, and lift stations. Such duties include entry level CAD work.
Primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Regular use of written and oral communication skills
- Overnight Travel
- Reading and interpreting data, information, and documents
- Analyzing and solving problems
- Observing and interpreting situations on construction job sites
- Performing highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
- Working under intensive deadlines
- Interacting with staff, contractors, the public, and others encountered in the course of work
Applicants must be capable of considerable physical activity in an outdoor setting including but not limited to light lifting, bending, stooping and climbing, walking and standing for prolonged periods of time, and regularly operating motorized vehicles.
Job Requirements
Requirements
- 0-5 years of experience in construction inspections, surveying or materials testing and inspection
- Ability to travel
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current and valid driver's license
- Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication experience
Preferred Skills
- Surveying or materials testing and inspection experience
- Experience inspecting construction projects
- Working knowledge of Construction Specifications
- Computer and electronic filing of documents knowledge
- Traffic Control/Safety training
- Other testing and inspection certifications
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation and/or InRoads
