Job overview
The Chemist is responsible for conducting and interpreting chemical and microbiological testing evaluations on a wide variety of commercial products with Intertek procedures, U.S., Canadian, and other international test standards.
What you’ll do
- Chemical permeation testing of materials in a production lab setting
- Create and validate test methods based on published test standards
- ASTM, NFPA, ISO, etc.
- Calibrate and maintain instruments, and analyze collected test samples
- Assist in generating quotes for work requests
- Able to assess health and safety threat level of requested testing
- Develop new test procedures based on client needs
- Create datasheets for evaluation of analytical results
- Participate in test standard technical committees
- Data review
- Adherence to test method
- Quantitative accuracy
What it takes to be successful in this role
- Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Required
- 1 years of relatable experience
- Strong background in analytical chemistry and instrumentation
- Specifically, GCMS, IC, GC FID, FTIR and HPLC
- Able to create and validate test methods based on published standards
- Proficient with Excel
- Experience working with textiles a plus
- Self-starter with positive energy
