Technician I
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technician I is responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance or clean-up. This position works under direct supervision.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to Engineering Team Lead.

- Setting up test apparatus
- Operating equipment
- Maintaining equipment and facilities
- Preparing test samples
- Obtaining and recording test data in accordance with standards
- Performing basic analysis of test data and routine calculations
- May draft technical reports
- Performing other work as required
- Performs and reports internal and 3rd party audit results
- Under guidance of Quality Manager, supports 3rd party pre-audit preparation and coordination. Participates in audit, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation and follow up
- Acts as primary resource for the local office on quality issues
- Provides quality training and support implementation of Global Management System
- Maintains and updates local management system policies and procedures
- Reports results of monitoring and quality control assessments
- Performs root cause analysis and corrective action reporting on Global Management System concerns
- Proves metrics data on required basis
- Supports complaint analysis and corrective action reporting
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-3 years directly related experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools
- Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong communication skills, in both verbal and written formats
- Microsoft Office software expertise, including Word, Excel and Outlook
