Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Contract Manager will support the information technology and logistics activities to drive contract review and execution and provide commercial and legal expertise around tendering and contracting. The Contract Manager will negotiate contractual terms and conditions with suppliers to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with legal and interdepartmental company requirements in the procurement of Intuitive’s products and services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with key partners across the company.
- Consult on key points of law and commercial best practice, advising of contractual rights and obligations and interpreting complex terms and conditions.
- Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts that establish business relationships with suppliers.
- Analyze contracts to ensure compliance with company policy, government regulations, applicable laws, and other requirements.
- Analyze, interpret, and respond to legal issues presented in contracts.
- Work directly with administrators, purchasing personnel, and attorneys representing the company’s suppliers.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or JD preferred
- Minimum 8-10 years prior experience with complex contract negotiation within the information technology industry.
- Understanding of contracting concepts and issues specific to information technology agreements and demonstrated knowledge of standard legal terms and conditions.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and create and reset priorities as needed.
- Demonstrates a positive and flexible attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence and persuade others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to work extended hours as needed.
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. In highest cost-of-labor areas the pay rate for this position is $123,100 to $177,100; the pay rate in the majority of the US is $104,600 to $150,600. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
