How You Will Make An Impact
- Works directly with CEO, VP of External Relations and Resource Development Committee to raise funds to support the mission.
- Plans and executes the annual membership and annual fund campaigns, including designing the campaign, procuring materials, executing a mail and e-mail campaign, and creating progress reports for internal and external use.
- Identify and research donor prospects and maintain donor prospect list.
- Plans and executes fundraising events and volunteer recruitment events and ensuring necessary follow up.
- Assist with grant research and writing as needed, maintaining a grants calendar, compiling reports, and preparing organizational documents for foundation and corporate submission.
- Compile donor lists for the annual report and assist with creation of the report as needed.
- Staff the Resource Development Committee, including developing agendas with the committee chair for regular meetings, providing staff support for initiatives and committee efforts, and providing necessary materials for committee meetings and assignments.
- Maintain the donor database and execute prompt acknowledgement of all donations.
- Demonstrate financial responsibility by working within a budget and meeting fundraising objectives
- Manage assigned projects, coordinating the work with team and setting deadlines.
- Track and manage key fundraising milestones.
- Maintain accurate financial and donor records.
- Provide accurate written and oral reports as requested.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to thrive and be productive equally in a team-oriented or autonomous environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines through good planning, scheduling, and follow-through.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to comfortably handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Good problem-solving skills, sound decision-making skills, self-confidence, initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, strategic thinking skills, and highly organized.
- Grant writing experience preferred.
- Experience in cultivating and security major gifts preferred.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree
- 2-5 years minimum experience in a similar position
- Must have a documented track record of acquiring individual and corporate gifts and cultivating and soliciting major gifts, acquiring strong foundation support, special events and direct mail.
- Must have a knowledge base of the entire donor development life-cycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship) or sales acquisition process.
- Knowledge of annual, major gifts, and planned giving principles preferred.
- NEON CRM experience is a plus
