The Department
The Invesco Alternative ETF team manages $16 billion in assets across commodities, currencies, and hedged equity strategies. The team manages $8billion in passive strategies and $8billion in active commodity and hedged equity strategies. The Invesco alternatives team is a growing dynamic team that covers a broad range of macro markets with clients globally.
Your Role
You will provide fiduciary oversight on behalf of Fund shareholders related to all aspects of fund management for Invesco’s Alternative ETFs. You will be responsible for daily research, data analysis and programming activities to help streamline daily functions and analysis to support the unique needs of a high-volume portfolio management environment across multiple alternative asset classes. You will need a thorough understanding of index management, derivatives, commodity trading, and the financial markets and possess written and verbal client engagement communication skills. Lastly, you must be able to learn the entire ETF & Indexed Strategies Portfolio Management eco-system and manage multiple projects with strategic vision in how data, applied research and enhanced processes can fit into the larger portfolio management process.
You will be responsible for:
- Investment Process Improvements: engagement with a team of portfolio managers and operations analysts to propose and implement best practices that aim to continuously improve the investment process and promote scalability in index management.
- Internal and External Client Engagement: Responsible for the promotion of Invesco ETFs to internal and external clients through product development, capital markets and due diligence.
- Quantitative Analysis and Modelling: due to requirements for sampling and optimization for funds, baskets and trading, the role will require a high degree of technical skills and the ability to understand modern portfolio theory to construct optimal portfolio sampling models that reduce tracking error and minimize transaction costs.
The experience you bring:
- Strong knowledge of global macro/commodity/and currency markets, index construction, and specifically data analytics skills to interpret various market data.
- Technical skills including Microsoft Excel, Python/R and Bloomberg.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to problem solve, manage projects, and lead others.
- The ability to work in a group environment interacting daily with other portfolio managers, research analysts, traders, technology, compliance, and operational staff is expected.
- CFA designation (or progress towards CFA designation) is preferred, but not required.
- Series 3 on or shortly after hire.
