Job Purpose (Job Summary):
Summer Internship
Invesco Indexing is a global index provider managing equity, fixed income and multi-asset indexes with nearly $15 billion in associated assets. We are one of the firm’s youngest and most rapidly growing business areas with offices in New York, Boston, Toronto and Hyderabad. Our 12-member team works through a highly collaborative and open process to develop fully customized investment strategies for our clients that span themes of beta, factor, ESG, and managed risk.
Internship description
The summer intern may work on projects that help support the research, development and management of custom indexes, or on the development of tools and materials required for messaging those products. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern should develop a strong understanding of the Invesco Indexing business and the increasing relevance of customized indexes in the asset management industry.
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- A strong candidate will have an excellent academic background and may have prior work experience in the financial services industry.
- Familiarity with financial applications including Factset, Axioma/Barra, and Bloomberg is preferable
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
- The ideal summer intern will be an enthusiastic worker willing to do whatever is required to get the job done.
- He or she must be highly detail oriented and intellectually curious with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong programming skills (R, Matlab, and Python preferable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
