DESCRIPTION
A Procurement Agent is responsible for purchasing equipment, goods and services, and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, manage critical lead times, and find more cost competitive suppliers. A Procurement Agent must be professional, proactive and positive when interacting with vendors. Our goal is to exceed expectations and ensure our customers receive an exceptional experience at Invio Automation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Track, monitor, and report on supplier performance metrics including on-time delivery and product quality
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Contract management including execution of supplier contracts and implementing negotiated terms & conditions
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Expedite critical and/or late purchased components
- Active participant in a continuous improvement environment
- Partner with Sourcing to execute supplier strategy and leverage negotiated contracts
- Partner with materials coordinator & shop foreman to identify opportunities for improvement

- Familiarity with strategic sourcing and vendor management
- Able to hold vendors accountable to meet pricing and delivery; i.e. not afraid of confrontation
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, and databases
- Experience with vendor managed inventory and consignment programs
- Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
- A knack for negotiation and networking
- Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures

EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting is preferred; minimum two-year degree is required.
Minimum three to five years experience in automotive, renewable energy, agricultural or medical device/life sciences manufacturing.
