Job Description
Our client is looking for an experienced Oracle DBA, who has a passion for working with application and business intelligence developers. This person should have expert level knowledge of database structures and different schemas to support a variety of services and applications. A strong communication with different stakeholders both verbally and written are necessary for success.
Tasks
- Primary responsibility will be for the Oracle administration and support of our existing Data Warehouse environment.
- Responsible to ensure that solutions are planned, developed, deployed, and maintained in accordance with the security policies and business requirements.
- The DBA will collaborate with development architects, developers, and analysts to implement and validate changes to database schemas and support the Software Development Life Cycles for numerous applications.
- A variety of tasks are performed daily, including the database administration for SQL application databases and security assignments.
- Write new PLSQL code as well as edit existing scripts.
- Create scripts to automate core DBA functions and asked to perform numerous security functions.
NOTE: This position is currently remote. (On site work is available if the candidate would like to be "on site".) However, position status is subject to change.
Contract: 1 year
Skills Required:
- Experience with supporting Oracle Data Warehouse database schemas including reverse and forward engineering the data structures.
- Experience creating and editing PLSQL statements in supporting an application development team.
- Experience with supporting application databases hosted on Exadata Oracle version 19c in a multitenant architecture.
- Experience writing and supporting Linux & Windows CMD Shell Scripts.
- 8 years - Database Tuning and Maintenance to assure highest level of system availability and performance
- 8 years - Ability to navigate and query relational database (Oracle) to develop reports
- 8 years - Create database objects
- 5 years - Database design
- 8 years - Database links and multiple database instances
- 3 years - Database monitoring tools
- 8 years - Database security
- 3 years - Logical database design
- 8 years - Oracle; Knowledge of Oracle including stored procedures and SQL Tuning

- 5 years - Oracle database security, synonyms, roles, privileges
- 5 years - Oracle data dictionary views
- 5 years - Oracle PL/SQL unit testing
- 4 years - Oracle SQL tuning
- 2 years - Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2019
- 4 years - PL/SQL development including writing new PLSQL code as well as edit existing scripts.
- 1 year - SQL SSIS
- 3 years - Informatica
- 2 years - Working knowledge of SQL Server T-SQL
- 3 years - Business Objects
- 3 years - Erwin Model Mart
- 1 year - Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
- Bachelor Degree in computer science
Skills Desired – A plus to have:
- Experience with meeting government regulations on security, data encryption as defined by the regulations
- Experience with enterprise class applications with mission critical functionality which contain sensitive and or regulatory information such as IRS Pub 1075 and PII
- Knowledge in the use of TOAD, Erwin Model Mart, and the Informatica Source and Target management
- Certified as an Oracle DBA
