DESCRIPTION:

Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC) is seeking outstanding talent to join its dynamic team developing clean energy and space propulsion at its Pilot Fuel Manufacturing Facility in Oak Ridge, TN. The Business Operations Specialist will manage the division’s purchasing activities by establishing efficient processes and generating orders in accordance with our existing procurement, safety, and quality policies. The Business Operations Specialist will report to the Business Operations Manager in USNC’s Core Division. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and process purchase requisitions and orders for materials, supplies, equipment, and services
• Reconcile invoices, authorize payments, maintain receipts, and relevant records
• Draft, communicate, and implement instructions and procedures for purchasing and contract management in accordance with USNC safety and quality requirements
• Assess and approve terms and conditions for issuing and evaluating bids
• Ensure orders are properly assigned to division projects and tracked against projected budgets accordingly
• Utilize best practices with vendor selection, contract structure, and payment policy to maximize return on capital
• Collaborate with the corporate finance and procurement teams to ensure policy compliance, develop new processes, and facilitate continuous improvement
• Provide guidance on projected cash flows for upcoming projects based on expertise and historical spend

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or other related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant role
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to include document generation and reporting
• Strong competency with MS Office suite of tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies and impact on financial statements
• Team-oriented, self-starter that can work independently and professionally

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

• Background in nuclear-energy or a related industrial environment
• Understanding of the major supply classes for nuclear fuel manufacturing and a familiarity with the relevant regulatory frameworks in terms of procurement
• APICS certification(s) (e.g., CPIM)
• Experience in QuickBooks
• Experience in document management and control and supporting systems
