Director of Nursing
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nursing and leadership, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional care to our residents. The Director of Nursing will oversee the nursing department, ensuring that all nursing staff are working together to provide the highest level of care possible.
Duties:
- Manage and supervise a team of nurses, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations regarding nursing care.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to nursing staff.
- Review and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Implement and maintain an electronic medical record system.
- Oversee and manage the facility's MDS (Minimum Data Set) system.
- Manage the facility's home care program.
- Develop and manage the facility's budget for nursing services.
- Ensure that all nursing staff are knowledgeable about and adhere to our facility's policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive and supportive work environment for nursing staff.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of care and patient satisfaction.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Nursing Management or Director of Nursing role.
- Proven experience in shift management and supervising nursing staff.
- Experience in an assisted living or home care setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing administration and nurse management practices.
- Experience with medical records and documentation review.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems and MDS systems.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
- A current RN License in the state where the facility is located.
- A Master's Degree in nursing administration or a related field is preferred.
