Job Description
The secretary will report to the Dean for Health & STEM. Under general supervision, coordinates, oversees and performs a variety of skilled clerical and office management activities for an academic division. Considerable judgment and independent action is exercised in establishing or adapting work procedures to new situations Duties include, but are not limited to maintaining files and supportive data in an organized system for the division, inputting scheduling data, producing and posting classroom schedules, coordinating the hiring process and orientation of new faculty, monitoring budget expenses and tracking invoices, and performing additional routine office activities with minimal guidance.

Required Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations and software systems including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all areas of the position. 1-3 years administrative experience working in an office environment. Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in office administration or related field.
Physical Demands
Include occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, ability to work with diverse populations, and work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, and working with minimal supervision, a high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills, and high degree of inter-personal skills.

$12/hr
