Summary
IP Pathways is searching for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our exceptionally talented and growing team! Our ideal candidate will possess an advanced level of knowledge of enterprise storage systems, Microsoft servers, Linux servers, virtualization technologies (VMware and KVM) and various backup & disaster recovery products. This position is based out of our Omaha, Nebraska office. This role offers the opportunity to work with several different technologies including in-house IP Pathways platforms used by customers and partners. This role is a salaried, full-time position and will be offered a convenient and flexible work schedule as well as an excellent work-life balance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Install/upgrade, configure and support various infrastructure supporting IP Pathways cloud and data center services
- NetApp storage systems
- Windows servers
- Linux servers
- Various backup and disaster recovery technologies
- And more
- Supporting IP Pathways data center and cloud services
- Monitoring, maintaining and securing infrastructure and services
- Developing, improving and implementing processes and procedures for data center infrastructure and services
- Implementation of DevOps philosophies, practices and tools
- Working with other IP Pathways teams, customers and partners on technical initiatives and support
- Participate and often lead customer onboarding for IP Pathways services
- Participation and remediation related to security and compliance audits
- Perform systematic troubleshooting and thorough analysis of complex systems issues in an effort to identify root cause and provide recommendation for remediation in a clear, organized and timely manner
- Create and maintain highly-detailed infrastructure documentation including systems diagrams and architectural assessments for support, audit, compliance and disaster recovery purposes
- Establish and maintain superior level of communication with internal project team ensuring constant awareness of project and ticket statuses and potential project impediments/risks
- Serve as an escalation resource for the IP Pathways Engineering
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Advanced or expert level knowledge and hands-on experience installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting NetApp and other storage systems
- Advanced or expert level knowledge and hands-on experience installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting Linux operating systems
- Advanced or expert level knowledge and hands-on experience installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting Windows Servers
- Advanced or expert level knowledge and hands-on experience with Active Directory including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS administration
- Experience with writing and maintaining scripts in Windows and Linux environments
- Experience with DevOps philosophies, practices and tools
- Advanced or expert level knowledge and hands-on experience installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting backup and recovery software/hardware such as Veeam, Zerto, Cohesity and Acronis
- Advanced or expert level knowledge and hands-on experience with databases (e.g. MSSQL, MySQL/MariaDB) including the ability to independently install, configure, administering and troubleshoot
- Understanding of networking concepts and basic configuration, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnets, VPNs, routing and firewalls
- Ability to successfully execute on strategic Systems Engineering projects as assigned from end-to-end (design, implementation, support) ensuring that solutions, when implemented, meet the needs and functional requirements of the client
- Ability to articulately communicate (both written and verbal) to all levels of client staff including at the executive level
- Ability and willingness to achieve and maintain relevant certifications and accreditations as well as to remain current with related industry standards and trends
- Ability to articulately communicate (both written and verbal) to all levels of client staff including at the executive level
- Ability and willingness to rack servers, switches and other data center equipment as needed
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to perform implementation and support activities
- Participate in 24x7 rotating on-call schedule
- Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio
