What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Technician position at IPG Photonics?
IPG Photonics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our growing IT team and work in a fast-paced, dynamic, high-tech manufacturing company. As a Desktop Migration Technician, you will be primarily responsible for the upgrade of Windows 7 desktops and laptops to Windows 10.
The ideal candidate is a diligent, hardworking individual who is able to communicate with customers to determine their needs, can work with little supervision, and is capable of delivering outstanding work at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Upgrade or replace existing Windows 7 computers with Windows 10.
- Migrate user profiles after migration.
- Troubleshoot any migration-related issues.
- Work with group leaders to determine any compatibility issues with Windows 10.
- Perform troubleshooting activities to determine the cause and resolution of computer hardware and software problems.
- Assess and take ownership of technical support tickets in the helpdesk ticketing system.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Windows 7 to Windows 10 migrations.
- 3+ years Microsoft Windows support experience.
- 3+ years of Microsoft Office support experience.
- 3+ years Active Directory support experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- SCCM experience a plus.
- Manufacturing environment experience a plus.
