The Information Technology Manager is responsible for maintaining information technology strategies by managing staff, researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.
Responsibilities and Authorities
- Responsible for all application and information system related operating problems, hardware and software.
- Maintains organizational effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering and
- supporting strategic plans for implementing network upgrades, process improvements, data flow and information technologies. Creates custom software programs as necessary to support information project objectives.
- Directs technological decisions by studying organization goals, strategies, practices and user projects.
- Monitors and maintains application and information system security and access.
- Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
- Works with different department managers to accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual IT budgets, and preparing requests for funds for information projects in accordance with Genesis Systems Group spending policies.
- Prepares and maintains a project list and schedule for information system projects.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Works with different department managers to identify problems, evaluate trends and anticipate requirements and recommends information technology strategies, policies and procedures to meet those requirements.
- Obtains and directs external resources as necessary to support information project objectives and telecommunications.
- Monitors and maintains compliance with software licensing agreements.
- Maintains documentation of information and land based telecommunications systems.
- Provides specific training through internal and external sources, to employees, on all applications and information system operation.
- Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
- Provides coaching and disciplining of employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing corporate and departmental systems, policies and procedures.
- Maintains staff by selecting, orienting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities, providing open communication and support; performing annual performance evaluations on a timely basis.
- Performs other related work and special projects.
