What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Economist position at IPRO?
As part of IPRO’s Data and Analytics team, the Health Economist will contribute valuable subject matter expertise in the economics of health care. You will join a dynamic group of highly skilled clinicians, analysts, programmers, and data scientists dedicated to the measurement of quality, efficiency and effectiveness of health care provided to and consumed by vulnerable beneficiaries and senior adults enrolled in Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) programs and services.
Under contract with CMS, IPRO brings communities together in data-driven initiatives to achieve national quality goals. This is an incredible opportunity to put your skills to work with a national leader in healthcare quality improvement as a Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) and a Hospital Quality Improvement Contractor (HQIC).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, economics or an associated field and 4 years of related professional experience; or a master’s degree in an associated field and three years of related professional experience; or a doctorate in an associated field and 1 year of related professional experience
- Knowledge of the health care industry and associated payments for health care services
- Familiarity with quality improvement concepts and methodologies
- Experience with collection and the manipulation of data related to the costs of health care delivery
- Education and training in the economics of health care
- Advanced data management skills
- Ability to build complex economic/statistical models
- Analytical experience in outcomes-based research and associated studies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines with accuracy and commitment
- Ability to thinking both strategically and analytically
- Direct experience of many of the following software data and visualization tools: SQL, SAS, Tableau, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $80,000.00 – $100,000.00. Actual salary depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location and budget.
The salary range listed does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
