Job Posting for Quality Improvement Specialist at IPRO

The Quality Improvement Specialist will serve as part of a multidisciplinary team working to improve the quality of health care for Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in managed care plans. They will conduct virtual and onsite reviews of primary care practices; review activities associated with best practices in health care delivery, equity, and patient engagement; advise on quality improvement strategies in both the organization of clinical quality and office efficiency; and write reports. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with practical experience in patient care within primary care practices, quality improvement and assessment of quality improvement initiatives, as well as writing for diverse audiences. This is a client-facing role and successful candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Ideally the candidate would be based in IPRO’s Ohio or New York (Lake Success) office. Up to 50 days of travel per year expected. Potential opportunity for hybrid & remote work available (U.S. only)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the principles of primary care, maternal and newborn health, population health, and quality improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with clinicians, other health professionals, and internal staff.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency with a developed knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and an aptitude for acquiring working knowledge of specific software applications such as those found in ambulatory EHRs or other sites that provide health care services. Knowledge of one or more existing ambulatory EHR software packages is a plus
  • The ability to work well independently, with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
  • The ability to travel to practices sites as required, up to 50 days per year.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in public health, quality improvement science, health research, or related field, required. Relevant work experience in the field may substitute.
  • Licensed RN, LPN, or MSW, preferred OR extensive quality improvement experience, required.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience working in a primary care setting, required.
  • Previous work experience involving quality assessment and/or quality improvement, required.
  • Previous report writing experience, preferred.
