The Advisory services team was established to generate strategic insights that build upon the company's core competencies in market research and aims to become a premier healthcare consultancy.

The Advisory Principal plays a leadership role in leading client engagements. Typical engagements focus in the early lifecycle on helping clients to define the potential of their asset in the context of future standards of care, prioritize the best targets and define market opportunity and competitive intensity, in the peri-launch window, we're supporting all aspects of go-to-market and launch strategies and subsequently work closely with clients to execute analytical work streams to optimize the impact of commercial programs and tactics.

You will join a unique team of problem solvers who come from backgrounds as diverse as scientific research, brand management, strategy consulting and medicine. Together, the team leverages these diverse perspectives to solve some of the most complex and challenging strategic problems for our clients across the healthcare market.

The Principal plays a key role in selling and leading our client engagements, setting the vision for deliverables, and presenting brand strategies to Pharma, MedTech and Digital Therapeutics clients.
You will be a senior voice of the firm with clients, working with Engagement Managers, and Consultants to ensure that our ideas are flawlessly presented to both clients and the broader marketing community. You will be expected to work in conjunction with your peers in Advisory as well as internal partnerships with Ipsos Core market research leaders.

In addition, we'll look to you to help grow our firm, set, and deliver on financial targets, inspire and develop those you work with, as well as provide thought leadership for the firm.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring a mix of both analytical and creative problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate must also have the right mix of the qualifications below:

  • The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of both left brain (analytical) and right-brain (creative) skills to bear on our client's problems: Our approach to solving problems requires that level of fluidity, comprehensiveness, confidence, and executive presence.
  • Undergraduate degree / Advanced degree / MBA Preferred
  • 10-15 years/Extensive and proven track record of professional experience in commercial strategy, branding/marketing, management consulting, and brand management, leveraging market research as a part of your engagements.
  • Proven experience in building and leading client service teams across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (both vertically and laterally), including bringing clarity to ambiguous situations and guiding the team to deliver excellence to our clients
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, with a solid understanding of market research
  • In addition to those qualifications, one of the key things we have in common is the ability to tie together disparate pieces of information (from social media, from census data, from professional observation) into a compelling story and tell it in a way that is engaging and memorable.
  • Ease and confidence with "thinking on your feet" - can effortlessly structure and lead a workshop with a group of senior executives
  • Outstanding business acumen and critical thinking skills
  • Impeccable interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including bringing clarity to ambiguous situations

Business Development/Clients

  • Track record of business development success - identifying, cultivating, creating, pursuing, and winning new business opportunities, and owning the related P&L
  • Personal impact and executive presence; presents next-level insights in a compelling way that convinces audiences to act.
  • Confidence outlining proposals (with support from team) in response to client RFPs
  • Ability to develop and adjust project approaches & frameworks as fit for various projects
  • Engages in ongoing discussions with clients to ensure understanding of client preferences/objectives/priorities for final reports and designs the reports to effectively meet/exceed these client needs
  • Seen as a trusted advisor by clients - someone they turn to for advice about addressing tough business and research issues
  • Partner with Ipsos sister divisions to leverage growth opportunities within clients across all Ipsos' lines of business
  • Ability to independently or as a partner with business development, dynamically present and close an opportunity by illustrating compelling differentiation vs. the competition
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities both with existing client and new prospects

Team Management

  • Has a passion for the success of people and enjoys mentoring and helping the careers of Advisory team.
  • Is a teacher, mentor and leader of all phases of project lifecycle: Client introductions, proposal development, pitching proposal, project work and deliverables
  • Commitment to people - recognizing, coaching, nurturing, and retaining top talent while actively molding team culture

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $230,000 to $255,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
