Job Summary
Drives truck or automobile over various routes to deliver products or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Delivers products and materials to customer job sites or sites of business while adhering to all safety procedures.
- Loads and unload materials and returns undelivered material to the warehouse.
- Checks quantities of goods received and obtains customer signatures for proof of delivery.
- Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition. Driver is responsible for general care and maintenance of the vehicle
- Verifies the accuracy of all deliveries by inspecting, counting, and verifying freight for accuracy
- Maintains all safety rules and regulations, particularly the hazards encountered with driving a truck. Maintains a good driving record, professionalism, and high-quality customer service
- Understands and abides by the Federal Highway Administration Rules and Regulations for Interstate drivers where applicable. Maintains driver log according to D.O.T. regulations.
- Keeps accurate records and submits expense reports for reimbursement of expenditures as required.
- Schedules an efficient route, delivery schedule, and pick-ups of materials and packages for company
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate within Irby Inventory Operating Systems
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide high-quality customer service
- Commercial or state issued motor vehicle drivers license required
Preferred Qualifications
- Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
