Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

In this role, you’ll gain valuable experience developing automation to verify the reliability and robustness of Iridium products and communication services. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy software engineering, devops, deep-dive troubleshooting with root-cause analysis, and detail-oriented tasks.

What You’ll Do:

• Work with industry standard tools and software such as Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana, Amazon Web Services, CI/CD DevOps pipelines, containers and more.
• Participate in an Agile software team to collaborate  with team members on a variety of tasks including:
  • Software architecture design
  • API definition and implementation
  • Virtualization
  • Transceiver communications
  • Testcase driver creation based on system requirements
  • Data transformation and visualization
• Assist team in creating innovative solutions to complex problems
• Maintain and expand existing software tools, lab environment, and hardware components
• Learn the details and protocols of the Iridium satellite constellation and ground systems

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present data, analysis, and defect information
• The desire to work in a collaborative environment with team members.
• Willingness to research and investigate information for unfamiliar topics

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

Things You Must Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field experience
• A desire to work in the field of automation
• Experience developing object-oriented software
• Familiarity with Linux and/or Unix

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

• Experience with Python3
• Experience with development using an Integrated Development Environment
• Familiarity with distributed version control systems such at git
• Familiarity with Software Engineering concepts and practices

We’ll also need you to:

• Be willing and able to travel up to 15 days annually
• Be willing and able to be on-call to support operational issues
• Be a U.S. citizen (due to ITAR restrictions)
