Job Summary
Transport patients to and from surgical area, change bed linen on in-patient beds prior to placing post op patient back in bed. Assist in transferring patients from carts to beds in OR, act as limb holder for prep when needed and assist housekeeping in cleaning and room turnover. Order storeroom and office supplies for OR, Anesthesia and PACU and stock all assigned areas. Put away linen, equipment and supplies. Transport specimens to lab. Document temperature and humidity for all assigned areas. Must be able to identify patient’s age-specific needs.
Job Specification
Minimum Education Required: High School graduate or equivalent
Minimum Experience Required: 1 year med-surg experience preferred. Successful completion of orientation
Licensure/Certification Required: successful completion of an approved certified nursing assistant program preferred.
Must be BLS certified or obtain within the first month of hire.
Skills required (if applicable): Ability to interact effectively with patients, families and staff. Excellent interpersonal skills, must possess the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a interdisciplinary team. The ability to provide direct patient care as needed.
