Job Description What you can expect in a typical day: This position is accountable to work with business users to design and develop reports using various reporting tools (primarily Cognos) with interactive data options. Design, develop and, deploy dashboard solutions and multidimensional reports using IBM’s Cognos toolset. What we offer: Competitive salary, bonus, and pension plan Flexible benefits, including a Health Spending Account Hybrid Work Opportunity – flexible work model that supports a blend of in-office and remote Wellness support, including annual wellness allowance and paid personal care days Paid vacation and vacation purchasing Personal and professional development opportunities Named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for six consecutive years Your roles and responsibilities: Working with internal and external technology teams to create, enhance and maintain data models to support business requirements; Provide system support for the Cognos environment (Cognos Administration for both the development and production environments) Manage report security, folder security, database row level security, report schedules and distribution Provide technical consultation associated with the use of Cognos Identify opportunities for improvement (standardization, simplification, etc) Translate business requirements into technical specifications to develop users reports Participate in the upgrade of software/releases, including the customization of functionality and the performance of technical tests to ensure minimal impact on the business Respond to and resolve access and performance issue for our business users Lead application performance monitoring efforts / job monitoring/audits/system usage Professional skills Strong Aptitude for Technology Must possess strong analytical skills and has to be detail oriented Must be able to manage multiple tasks at the same time Competencies: Using Information Technology – Advanced Business Analysis - Intermediate Financial Systems, Processes and Technology – Intermediate Quality Control and Assurance – Intermediate Finance and Accounting - Basic Must be able to maintain good working relationship and partner well with operations.
