What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at ISG?
GENERAL SUMMARY/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for understanding, upholding and promoting CSG’s Critical Success Factors, 1) Safety First!; 2) Financial Success (including operational excellence); 3) Employee Satisfaction (including development and training), and 4) Customer Satisfaction. Promote ISG/PCM, OEG/MDU Core Values, safety culture and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI). Responsible securing competitive negotiated pricing and recommending the best vendor partners. We strive to provide consistent, dependable purchasing practices to support our internal and external customers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare and/or process requisitions, place purchase orders and oversee delivery of goods and services to meet predetermined project due dates
Expedite deliveries and conduct follow-up procedures as necessary with vendors as coordinated with Project Managers
Reconcile parts inventory remaining on Jobs at time of completion
Inventory tracking, manage stock levels, forecasting of stock
Utilize problem solving, supplier management, and negotiating skills
Negotiate delivery and payment terms, as well as change orders
Perform competitive supplier selections, reviews, proposals and process competitive bids routinely
Provide vendor performance reviews with metrics that ISG can use for improved performance
Assist in executing sourcing strategies, prepare and organize data for presentation and decision making
Perform additional duties as assigned
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize & complete multiple projects in a timely manner
Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive, confidential situations
Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word & Excel
Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Good punctuation, spelling, and grammar skills are critical
Must maintain professional confidentiality
Must be able to effectively work independently & within a team environment

Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two years technical or business degree or equivalent combination of education and procurement experience.
Requires a minimum of four years purchasing experience - preferably electrical industry experience.
Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, accounting policies and business procedures. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
