JOB OPENING:
ISL is seeking a passionate and experienced Spanish teacher to join our after-school program starting in the September 2023.
As a Spanish teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging and interactive learning environment where students can develop their Spanish language skills.
Responsibilities:
- Getting to the school on time.
- Plan and deliver dynamic Spanish lessons that align with the program's curriculum and objectives
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with the program's goals and objectives.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes language learning and cultural understanding.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to actively participate in the learning process.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, student performance, and other relevant data.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be legal to work in the United States
- Responsible, efficient and reliable
- Have your own transportation to drive to the schools provided (around the area).
- Be flexible and able to teach every weekday during the hours provided for the full session (typically 8 weeks)
- Use the materials provided by us to teach as well as provide your own materials when needed.
- Make sure classes are fun and students are learning.
- Patience and experience with children.
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
- Can communicate in English
- Previous experience teaching Spanish to students of various ages and proficiency levels.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish language, grammar, and culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching is a MUST.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with current educational technology and resources
