JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Shop Manager

Supervisor: Owner

Position Overview:

The shop manager will supervise the staff and operations at the assigned Island Cool shop in a manner consistent with Island Cool requirements. The shop manager must maintain a level of exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

· Able to follow procedures and systems and provide leadership at the shop level to ensure company standards.

· Proven record of strong leadership and motivational skills.

· Professional verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficiency with online apps, Microsoft Office Suite, online goods ordering.

· Ability to learn quickly and adapt easily to change.

· Must be able to assess the quality of all flavors by by taste, smell and visual inspection.

· Point of Sale experience.

· Must have food handlers permit prior to employment date.

· Must have reliable transportation.

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Minimum 1 year experience in food services or retail operations, employee training and supervision.

· Ability to work 32 hours per week including evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs.

Primary Job Duties:

· Post job openings, interview and hire employees.

· Prepare work schedules for team members.

· Train and supervise team members.

· Provide excellent customer service by working scheduled shifts in the shop(s).

· Maintain levels of needed inventory in the shop. Accurate record keeping and the ability to use applicable software system is required.

· Creates a culture in the shop of respect.

· Plans, identifies, delegates appropriate tasks to team members as needed.

· Provides coaching and direction to team members as needed.

· Regularly inspects shops for cleanliness, safety, and identifies repairs/maintainence.

· Review team member performance and identify and correct areas of concern.

· Review timecards and submit to payroll.

· Handle cash tips and allocate on a monthly basis.

· Administrative and other job duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

· Able to stand for extended periods of time.

· Able to bend, crouch, and squat occasionally.

· Able to life, carry, and transport products and supplies.

· Able to life and carry 40 pounds.

· This position may require exposure to sub-zero ice cream freezers on occasion.

Workplace Environment:

Work is performed both in shops and an office environment. This is a non-smoking, tobacco free work environment.
