Responsibilities:
- Perform basic patient care tasks, including taking vital signs, collecting medical history, and preparing patients for examinations
- Assist healthcare professionals with procedures and treatments
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Conduct X-rays and other diagnostic tests as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical record systems
- Schedule appointments, handle phone calls, and assist with patient inquiries
- Ensure compliance with medical protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Proficiency in performing vital signs assessments and basic laboratory procedures
- Experience with medication administration and dosage calculations
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Compassionate demeanor and ability to provide exceptional patient service
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable
