What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material handler 3rd position at ISRI?
I.SUMMARY : Plans, organizes, and monitors the storage and distribution of all inventory. Ensure smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to production and service in an effective and efficient manner.
Fill production lines with parts needed for daily production requirements. Stage material for assembly and sub-assembly.
Follow and adhere to IMS. Counting, verification, storage and insuring safety of all inventory items. Document all incoming and outgoing products to and from warehouse.
Log shortages for all production departments and alerts Materials Department. Maintain 5S in warehouse area. Assist in shipping and receiving as needed : unload, count, stock and record incoming material plus remove material from the stockroom according to the manufacturing pick list, record transactions and stage per procedures.
Help with physical inventories and cycle counts as needed. Maintain parts locator spreadsheet. Maintain inventory on a FIFO basis.
Adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and work rules. Understand and implement product quality standards both internal and externally provided (Customer Specific Requirements).
Understanding and practicing the authority to stop production builds and shipment of product due to product quality concerns.
II.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None
Requirements
I.QUALIFICATIONS : Ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations. Knowledge of barcode and Kanban technology.
Good organizational skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and inventory software.
IV.EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE : Forklift license. Experience in warehousing, receiving and material handling operations, methods and practices a plus.
V.LANGUAGE SKILLS : Excellent verbal communication skills.
VI.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Basic math
VII.REASONING ABILITY : Displays the willingness to make decisions and exhibits sound and accurate judgement.
VIII.PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Ability to lift 50-75lbs. Ability to stoop, kneel, reach, bend, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
