General Purpose: In a few brief sentences summarize the primary duties and
responsibilities.
Reports to the Director, and is responsible to deliver comprehensive
vocational case management, counseling and referral services and to assist in
attaining career goals that can lead to self-sufficiency. Must maintain the highest standard of
personal conduct and integrity while working with the clientele, as well as
in relating to other staff members, service providers and agencies.
Essential Functions:
•Performs weekly/daily initial assessments for new clients and ensures
that clients have all necessary documents for employment such as valid proof
of Citizenship/US residency, Work authorization, Social Security Card, valid
NYS photo identification, educational and training documents and updates
resume.
•Develops goals and individual service plans consistent with the clients’
interests, previous work histories, education and assessment results.
•Completes case notes and assessments adhering to time frames set by Goodwill Industries.
•Provides follow-up counseling and guidance services to address barriers
to employment and make appropriate referrals to vendor services, agencies,
and HRA representatives as required to help overcome these barriers and
better prepare clients for employment opportunities.
•Monitors and tracks client engagement and participation activities to
ensure client meets weekly and monthly goals and adjust life plans when
required.
•Introduces program services, assessment process, program flow, job
development and retention.
•Enters clients’ demographic information in Database systems.
•Submits weekly report to Director with updates on case notes and clients
serviced, referrals for training and specialized resources, and career
preparation.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: Describe the skills, knowledge and

•BA degree required with two years related working experience with client
population.
•Two or more years of related case management experience.
•Knowledge of labor market, industries and employer hiring practices.
•Must have excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal and
effective problem-solving skills. Excellent motivational and presentation skills.
•Maintains security of customer information and files.
