What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at Italian Pottery Outlet?
Italian Pottery Outlet at 929 State Street is looking for a bright, creative and energetic person to join our small team of friendly art lovers. We're a small, family-owned business with a varied product line, the main focus being handmade, hand painted Italian ceramics. Each of our employees must be a team player, and be willing to tackle any task. We have high standards for excellence, but we're a flexible workplace and we pride ourselves on a relaxed, pleasant work environment. We are offering 28-35 hours a week Saturday - Tuesday, 5th day may be required some weeks.
A typical day includes:
*Excellent customer service in person, online, and via phone - you will wear many hats! Assisting customers in the shop and cashier duties will be a daily occurrence, while also handling customer service issues via phone and email.
*Management of wholesale accounts - this involves consistent contact with wholesale customers. You will be the main point of contact for new accounts as well as existing accounts, ensuring they place regular orders and helping them with product questions.
*Shipping duties utilizing UPS World Ship software, USPS/Stamps.com, and coordination with 3rd party freight companies.
*Light cleaning & shop maintenance

*Is available to work a full shift on your scheduled days - 10:45 am to 6:15 pm daily
*Is passionate about handmade art, home decor, and supporting small businesses
*Has excellent follow-through, attention to detail, can foresee problems before they arise
*Has outstanding customer service skills
*Is willing to handle any issue as it arises
Computer skills and typing are required, and excellent verbal and writing skills are a must! Our ideal candidate would have the ability to pay attention to detail and follow through on projects.
