Summary:
The Claims Manager’s main area of responsibility is the collection of data necessary to accomplish three key tasks: (i) to aid in the recovery of claims made against motorists who cause damage to Company property; (ii) to research and recommend a course of action regarding claims made against the Company that involve minor cost to repair; (iii) and to assist in the insurance renewal process and all claims.
Relationships:
- Works directly for the Associate General Counsel.
- Works with staff from various departments.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all tasks safely, complies with all internal and external safety requirements, supports ITRCC safety culture, attends all safety trainings and completes all compliance trainings as required by ITRCC.
- Uphold ITRCC’s core values: Customer Service, Respect, Excellence,
Stewardship and Teamwork (CREST).
- Receives incident reports submitted by customers for damage sustained while traveling on the Indiana Toll Road. Performs required investigations of the incident reports, which includes video review, discussions with staff, review of official Company documents followed by a recommendation to the Associate General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer on findings.
- Responds to customers regarding the status of a claim via a letter for denial or by sending a release of liability prior to payment of claim.
- Responsible for correlating all documents relevant to the collection of third-party claims.
- Communicates with at-fault insurance companies in the collection of claims.
- Makes recommendation to Chief Operating Officer for deviations in the amount of claim recovery, based on negotiations with at-fault insurance companies.
- Keeps accurate records of all pending and collected claims.
- Tracks for reporting purposes all paid claims to customers.
- Although the position’s primary function is the processing of claims, another critical function is providing administrative and project leadership duties within ITR’s operational departments.
- Performs insurance file compilation and coordinates the annual renewal of insurance policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must possess effective oral and written skills
- Must possess effective organizational skills and can multi-task on a daily basis.
- 5 years past experience in the fields of: Insurance/Claims/Legal
Desirable Experience:
- Past experience in claims collection and investigation
- Adjuster experience
Working Conditions:
