itselectric is a Brooklyn-based start up with a mission to unlock access to electric transportation in cities across the US. To support this effort, we’re seeking dedicated problem solvers who are passionate about building sustainable urban communities.
Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs, the Grants Manager is responsible for grant writing and supporting private, philanthropic, and government (local, state, and federal) funder relationships. This role is crucial to the company’s growth in identifying opportunities to integrate our community, design, and equity centered approach to EV charging. Candidates should be excited to do the work needed to grow along with one of the most promising climate start-ups working in a rapidly expanding industry.
Candidate Requirements:
Strong candidates will have a minimum 3 years of relevant experience leading winning grant submissions. The Grants Manager will respond to RFIs and RFPs; create and submit materials ranging from LOIs to full proposals; manage all compliance reporting; and support special project initiatives. The role will fully own the sourcing, validation, development, and management of current and prospective grant opportunities that align with itselectric’s goals across U.S. markets. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, and project management skills, with an emphasis on outcome measurement. The Grants Manager will foster collaboration and support a culture of trust with colleagues, partners, and funders.
Relevant Experience:
A proven track record of the development, award, and post-award management of grants.
Role Requirements:
-Write grant proposals, letters of interest, concept papers, and related materials for proposal submissions that align with both funder interests and itselectric’s priorities. Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets — taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness.
-Cultivate and maintain relationships with organizational funders and stakeholders through targeted and strategic outreach, interpretation, and stewardship.
-Monitoring and maintaining funder and investor reporting schedules and requirements
-Tracking progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals
-Target and secure letters of support and other supporting materials from external partners.
-Ingest, adapt and modify copy tone; tailoring writing for discreet audiences.
-Develop program budgets in collaboration with itselectric’s leadership.
-Track, internally communicate, and meet application and reporting timelines and deadlines.
-Maintain and manage documentation and records in accordance with funder requirements.
-Maintain and manage master calendar of grants and prospects
-Maintain and manage master library of support content and documents
-Enter grants data into company CRM ensuring integrity of data and regulatory compliance.
-Request reimbursements and drawdowns as needed;
-Work with Finance to track and schedule payments and communicate payment verification with grant subrecipient(s).
-Assist in development of presentation materials for various stakeholders including the creation of progress reports and program updates.
-Stay updated on regulations and incentives related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
-Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and collaborate with itselectric leadership to fulfill IRS reporting requirements.
-Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience as well as superior editing skills, including ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience.
-Ability to work with autonomy, clarity, and precision to respond to multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality.
-Fluency in Google Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, CRM/database platforms, and willingness to learn additional applications.
-Demonstrated interest in the mission, vision, and values of itselectric (prior work in Electric Vehicle Charging, Sustainability, or Climate Tech is not a requirement)
