Position Summary
Lead responsibility for the development, implementation, management and monitoring of site Environmental Protection, Industrial Hygiene, Health, Safety, Facilities and Security programs. Ensure complete site compliance to all OSHA, RCRA, SARA Title 3, EPCRA, local, state and federal regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides Mentoring and guidance to operational and functional site organization including the Plant Manager regarding current and anticipated ESH, facilities and Security issues; Direct the development of programs to address new requirements and concerns. Participate in site level reviews and discussions of ITT Enidine programs.
- Drives a culture of relentless Injury Prevention through proactive engagement and planning process to ensure active integration for EHS requirements.
- Develops, implement manages all applicable EHS program (s) procedures to support the effective execution of the site’s injury and illness prevention program.
- Leads the functional area managers and accountability in site process and job task risk evaluation for new and existing work activities to identify potential regulatory, ergonomic, physical, equipment operation, chemical, and biological safety, or environmental exposures.
- Develop, manage, and leverage the site EHS risk profile to set priorities for EHS and process improvement plans.
- Executes an integrated worker’s compensation program to ensure clear roles and responsibilities with HR, EHS, employee’s supervisors, employee’s occupational medical providers and worker’s compensation insurers
- Manages a healthy and active internal EHS audit program to periodically assess conformance to requirements, and identify new or emerging program improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement an effective corrective action program to ensure timely and sustaining implementation of EHS improvement actions
- Facilitate the timely completion of incident investigation by employees’ direct reports
- Coordinate the implementation of an active and functional change management process.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to applicable federal, state, or local EHS regulation or national standards (EPA, DEP, DEC, OSHA etc.); Ensure timely and accurate submittal and posting of regulatory requirements (OSHA injury notification, waste fees, waste exception reports, toxic inventory reports, permits fees or related reports etc.)
Position Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE bachelor’s degree in environmental, safety and health science or engineering or science discipline and at least 8 years of experience in EH&S, facilities or a related field. Experience in Safety and environmental requirements (Lockout tagout, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Prevention, Confined Space, Emergency Management, Ergonomics, Fire Prevention, IIPP, Storm & Industrial Water Management, Hazardous Material Handling, Material Handling Equipment such as Cranes and Hoists and Business Continuity Planning). Will substitute 10 years of progressive safety experience and applicable professional certifications for the Degree requirements. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. MECHANICAL, ELECTRIC ENGINEERING SKILLS Ability to apply mechanical engineering skills to various manufacturing operations such as machine safety and factory hazards. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Possess extensive knowledge in OSHA, accident reporting and preventative safety. Complete knowledge in Federal, State and Local Environmental regulations including all reporting requirements and employer obligations. Possess communication & interpersonal skills including strong presentation and organizational skills. Possess strong analytical & problem solving skills. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) desired. Industrial Process designs and manufactures pumps, valves, monitoring and control systems, water treatment and aftermarket services for the chemical, oil and gas, mining and other industrial process markets, as well as global service capabilities;
Motion Technologies designs and manufactures brake pads, shock absorbers and sealing solutions for the automotive and rail markets;
Connect and Control Technologies designs and manufactures harsh-environment connectors and critical energy absorption and flow control components primarily for the aerospace, defense and industrial markets.
