Position Summary
Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties. Assist in the quality program as well.
Essential Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading.
Determines method of shipment.
Affixes all shipping labels.
Places valves on pallets and prepares for shipment.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Enters weight and number of pallets on prepared bill of lading and maintains for truck driver.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates tow motor to move shipments from shipping.
Assist in Quality issues to include measurements, weights and tolerances

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as summary totals, square footage and linear footage.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
