Pay rate: $19.06/hr 0.85/hr. shift premium for those on 2nd shift. Medical/dental/vision/401k benefits start on day 1
Immediate direct hire! Clean manufacturing environment. Stable employer.
1st and 2nd shifts available. 4-10 hour days. Voluntary Overtime available after training period.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Experience: Prior manufacturing experience preferred however, candidates with a positive attitude and work history will be considered. Must have basic mechanical troubleshooting ability and willingness to grown and learn.
SUMMARY
Polishers are responsible for the polishing, all manufactured goods by flowing the product at the pull of the customer. Responsible for the inspection and quality of the Lancaster product.
Responsible for the inspection of production and manufacturing materials to ensure conformance and quality specifications are met. Any defective part or materials should be given to the Inspector, Quality or Production Supervisor.
Manually or automatically finishes all bodies and body configurations. Finishes include 35, 25, 20, 15, and 11Ra, as well as other customer required finishes. Uses all types of measuring instruments to perform dimensional and surface finish examinations.
Certifies the quality of the surface finish of all polished bodies meet ITT BPE specifications; ability to use gauges such as profilometer, dial calipers, wall thickness gauges and other inspection equipment to insure the above. Indicates acceptance or rejection by completion of proper documentation as required upon completion of polished work.
Operates air-powered tools and other finishing equipment, small hand tools, and lifting tables and hoist.
Participates in Kaizen events, providing suggestions or ideas for continuous improvements.
Reports safety incidents, near misses, or any safety concerns.
Trains other co-workers in job duties/functions, as assigned
Performs efficiently and in-line with current performance standards, as applicable
Performs Sustain activities to assure that all 6S areas are maintained and assures a clean and safe work area
Reads and interprets shop orders, obtain drawings as needed and other instructions provided per the individual shop order
Access the Kronos timekeeping system for productivity tracking; utilizes the bar code system to perform accurate labor tracking. Clocks in and out times to ensure accurate attendance transactions for payroll.
Communicates with department personnel as well as with all other supporting departments such as Environmental Safety & Health, Production, Quality, Engineering, and Facilities/Maintenance
Complies with all safety, environmental, quality, and process standards, rules and procedures
Performs other related duties as assigned

Strong organizational and communication skills, analytical experience and problem solving. Must be self-motivated, independent, and flexible to frequently changing tasks and priorities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent related experience. Basic knowledge of computer operation. Prior experience in production or manufacturing, and use of hand production tools, strongly preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, managers, customers, etc.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTING SKILLS
Basic knowledge of computer operation. Must have basic familiarity with computer and software systems such as email, database, and data entry.
