OVERVIEW:
Comprised of a market-leading portfolio of best-in-class brands, the businesses of ITW Welding work together to provide premium performance delivered through a breadth of solutions encompassing welding, cutting, consumables, automation and accessories. ITW Welding North America represents Miller Electric Welding Equipment, Safety & Accessories, Hobart Filler Metals, Miller Welding Automation and Bernard / Tregaskiss MIG Guns
BASIC DESCRIPTION:
The Miller Welding Automation Product Specialist is representing a fast-paced business group, focused on the growing need for welding automation in the industry. The primary focus of this position will be targeted strategic selling of Robotic Flexible and Fixed Automation Welding Solutions that combine the full portfolio of ITW Welding products. This position will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies with distributors and key targeted accounts, gain market share and achieve long term sustainable growth for ITW. This includes creating close, trusted, long lasting relationships with accounts key decision makers to drive a higher level of customer satisfaction. Will drive growth via the presentation of ITW solutions that deliver customer value through documented welding productivity, quality, and cost savings improvements. Close collaboration with all ITW welding sales personnel to identify and support conversion opportunities and defend key accounts. Must be a self-starter, aggressive, a good team player, and possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow through to completion.

This position covers Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and western Pennsylvania. It is preferred that interested candidate lives in central Indiana, central Ohio, or southern Michigan.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create compelling, fact-based ROI capital equipment sales presentations and implement ROI solutions that monetize the value of ITW solutions to end user customers.
- Understanding complete process and application details of where specific products are used.
- Qualify leads that align with ITW solutions, managing the opportunity funnel.
- Create and articulate large capital goods justification reports, presentations, and business correspondence with key decisions makers and owners of small to medium metal fabrication businesses.
- Collaborative account planning with ITW Welding Sales Personnel to convert/earn end user business. Understands the length of capital equipment purchasing cycles.
- Conduct product demonstrations as necessary to demonstrate the value of ITW solutions and drive product conversions.
- Assist other ITW sales resources with technical knowledge to support presentation of the full ITW Welding Products customer value proposition.
- Identify and evaluate manufacturing constraints/opportunities with the targeted customers.
- Maintain consistent verbal and written communications and key activities between ITW sales resources, distributor partners, key end users, and the ITW operating Divisions.
- Reporting on activities, opportunities, and project status with the ITW operating units.
- Ability to effectively manage assigned territory and prioritize through an 80/20 mindset of key accounts and activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology or equivalent experience and/or degree to perform all duties mentioned above.
- Strong background in Flexible and Fixed Automation preferred.
- Solid understanding of distribution network.
- Prior sales experience in the welding and/or automation industry preferred.
- Subject matter expert in manufacturing welding processes and welding variables.
- Strong ability to communicate the value offering to all levels of end user management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and CRM system.
- Strong communication, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector qualification preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to travel overnight at least 50%.
