What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at ITW?
E.H. Wachs, an ITW company, currently has an opening for a Electrical Engineer at its Lincolnshire, IL facility. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electronics, wiring and electromechanical systems. This role requires a highly motivated individual willing to be the key contributor for new product development and provide technical support in the resolution of problems. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial attitude, willingness to learn, and collaborate with a market focused engineering team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee development of electronic module specifications and requirements.
- Electronic/electrical component specification and selection.
- Maintain PCB electronic design and manufacturing data files.
- Provide engineering documentation: schematics, BOM’s, and drawings.
- Identify new technologies for feasibility and future implementation plans.
- Design production test equipment to support production.
- Help test and verify software to meet requirements.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to design products and solve problems.
- Additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or related field or relevant work experience.
- 2 years electronics development experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and create schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with solenoids, transducers, relays, fuses, connectors and wiring.
- Background in automotive engineering or mobile equipment a plus.
- Knowledge of electronic equipment, automation, embedded controls, computer hardware, serial communication and CANbus a plus.
- Requires broad based skills in communication, organizing and problem solving; technically competent with computers and Office software.
- Preferential consideration will be given to those who also have good working knowledge electro-mechanical design.
