Job Description
As a key member of the global leadership team, the Human Resources Director develops and implements a comprehensive people strategy to enable exceptional business results. They will lead both the implementation and optimization of cross regional HR initiatives such as, organization re-design, talent management, employee development, legal compliance, diversity, and inclusion. In addition to this, they will have an invested focus on ensuring that the ITW culture is felt top to bottom across all areas of the division. The HR Director is responsible for HR strategy across all of the worldwide locations and will work in close collaboration with the leadership team to establish both annual and long-range plan deliverables.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Supports safety initiatives and drives zero accident safety culture across all teams and locations in collaboration with business leaders. Drive proactive safety engagement activities within the division.
- Applies 80/20 mindset to the running of the HR department and advocates for simplicity inside and outside of the direct function.
- Utilizes strong business acumen, and organization understanding to develop and execute effective people strategies to support organic growth delivery, operational excellence, and highly effective teams across the globe.
- Develop and execute core HR processes (e.g., talent acquisition, talent management and pipeline development, performance management, employee relations) consistent with ITW business model, culture, and values. Takes a measured and balanced approach to decision making ensuring that the highest levels of compliance are demonstrated and applied consistently. Effectively delivers results through others to ensure that business plan commitments are met.
- Leads the acquisition, development, and retention of a diverse pipeline of great talent. Can assess and identify talent gaps within the organization and anticipate future trends. Develop and deploy a compelling talent management and development framework to ensure succession within the division, and that the skillset and pipeline is in place to deliver annual and long-range plan objectives.
- Actively and consistently models and promotes ITW's culture, values, and displays inclusive leadership whilst being a critical voice of candor to respectfully challenge business leaders and hold them accountable. Uses influence to drive positive change within the organization and lead the HR team to success as credible business partners and trusted advisors.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of US employment law and recent case management is required. International employment law experiences beneficial, but not essential.
- Minimum of 7 years in the HR Leadership role, experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Experienced in recruitment, organizational design, engagement and change management initiatives.
- Has demonstrated experience in delivering HR function transformation; operating with a high level of integrity at all times.
- Strong business partnership capabilities: ability to learn and adapt to changing business, help assess talent and become familiar with the business operations of the division and operating markets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrates good listening skills and collaborative approach.
- Strong process-oriented mindset which focuses on efficiencies and simplification.
- Independent and organized work style effectively manages and prioritizes workload, with the ability to re-prioritize based on the needs of the organization.
- High attention to detail and strong technical skills/aptitude.
- Travel up to 30% (Domestic and International)
