Job Description

As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a crucial role in the effective management of the organization's human capital. This position requires a strategic and hands-on approach to human resources, involving talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations. The Human Resources Manager serves as a bridge between employees and management, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Human Resources Manager will be a key business partner to the Operations team.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Talent Acquisition:
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment and onboarding strategies.
    • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and participate in the selection process.
    • Conduct new employee orientation and follow-up to foster positive attitude toward company policies.
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of a strong employer brand.
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
    • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
    • Promote employee engagement and morale.
  3. Performance Management:
    • Partner with Supervisors to understand career planning, performance results, managing follow-up processes for high and low performers and support disciplinary action.
    • Work with managers to set performance goals and provide guidance on performance improvement.
    • Conduct regular feedback sessions.
  4. Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
    • Facilitate training sessions and workshops on various HR-related topics.
    • Support career development initiatives for employees.
  5. Compliance and Policy Development:
    • Stay abreast of relevant labor laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's compliance.
    • Manages the administration and retention of all human resource records including benefits, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, I-9’s, etc. in both hard copy and electronic form. 
    • Manages and complies with Workers Compensation, FMLA, LOA and ADA matters.
    • Represents site at personnel related hearings and investigations.
  6. HR Metrics and Reporting:
    • Compile and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports for management on HR-related activities and key performance indicators.
    • Prepares reports and analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies related to absenteeism and turnover.
  7. HR Business Partner:
    • Foster strong working relationships with business leaders.
    • Advise and coach leadership on topics ranging from hiring, performance management, termination, employee relations, etc.
    • Collaborates with management to identify change management implications and develops change plans.
    • Educate and influence leaders and managers on building an inclusive culture within the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • 3 years of Human Resources generalist experience including previous experience working in a manufacturing setting and/or similar populations of hourly employees.
  • Experience in all facets of human resources including recruitment processes, employee relations and legal compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated strength in analyzing facts and issues, identifying options, and able to decide and recommend a course of action.  Must know when to compromise and when to be assertive.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office:  Prior HRIS experience preferred.
  • Up to 25% travel

Additional Information

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical office working conditions.  While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment.  The noise level in the work environment (office) is usually low, but much higher when exposed to the manufacturing areas.  Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and regularly required to walk.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.  Position may require travel and overnight stay.
