What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Sourcing Manager position at ITW?
ITW Pro Brands is a manufacturer of lubricants, cleaning chemicals, and corrosion preventatives formulated to maximize equipment productivity and product quality for customers. We go to market through B2B with a focus on the automotive, aviation, fabricated metal, food processing and machinery manufacturing market segments. Offering a brand portfolio that is well recognized within these industrial channels, our premium products address customer pain points and our direct sales team provides expert, value-added consulting at the customer level. ITW Pro Brands has 3 manufacturing facilities (Olathe, KS, Tucker, GA and DeWitt, IA) and a formulation lab in Carol Stream, IL and employs 250 individuals.
Hours: Mon – Fri/ 8:00am – 5:00pm
Travel: 25% domestic and international
Job Duties:
- Develop, articulate, and implement category strategies in alignment with key stakeholders and deliver on sourcing and financial goals of the Division.
- Measure key performance indicators to ensure effectiveness, usage, and awareness.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external parties regarding spend data compilation and management processes.
- Manage strategic sourcing tracker program.
- Conduct supplier visits as needed.
- Manage supplier qualification and performance assessments, contract compliance, mitigation strategies, and supply chain risks.
- Support negotiations of supplier agreements, renewals and amendments.
- Analyze competitive landscape and market standards to identify and negotiate savings and contain costs.
- Manage purchasing processes to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
- Collaborate with Corporate Sourcing Group, Operations, Purchasing, Research & Development New Product Development stakeholders to plan and control sourcing and supply chain needs.
- Partner with research and development chemist and manager to insure raw materials meet product specifications and compliance.
- Collaborate with key Operations and Finance personnel in establishing and maintaining effective inventory control processes and procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering or related technical field; and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Sourcing Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics role.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience with:
- Logistics, distribution, and inventory;
- Supply chain management and demand planning;
- Corporate finance for procurement;
- Managing cross-functional teams;
- Category strategy development;
- Strategic sourcing contract analysis and negotiation;
- Global market analysis;
- Supplier and vendor relationship management; and
- P&L controlling.
