Company Description
ITW Professional Automotive Products specializes in the manufacture of automotive maintenance products including fluids (treatments and additives, cleaners, functional fluids along with the equipment required to perform the services) and wiper blades. Major business segments include New Car Dealers, Tire, Muffler and Brake and Quick Lube facilities. Operations are in Lakeland, FL. This position will be located at our Lakeland, FL facility.
Under direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Analyst I will ensure the proper execution of Supply Chain guidelines and activities of the organization including, but not limited to, utilizing sound judgment, strong analytical, negotiating, and inventory control skills. In addition, the individual will support the Division Supply Chain Manager with all associated activities within the department.
Job Description
- Responsible for the planning and procurement of assigned items and executing buying strategies with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost / quality relationship.
- Independently perform 80/20 and MRD analysis of assigned materials.
- Independently initiates and creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials and their timely arrival.
- Ensure that required materials are available to support manufacturing requirements and/or customer orders.
- Responsible for inventory levels of assigned materials.
- Assists in the Cycle Counting Program for assigned items.
- Research the cause of unavailable material to meet customer order(s) and / or backorders. As well as recommend / implement improvements.
- Interface with CSR’s, Manufacturing personnel and Shipping personnel in relation to all activities regarding availability of assigned materials and/or finished goods.
- Confers with production, quality and shipping/receiving personnel to discuss defective and/or unacceptable goods/services and determines corrective actions.
- Maintains records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance and inventories.
- Demonstrates JDE database management skills by ensuring that all purchasing data is inputted and maintained on a timely and accurate basis to include, but not be limited to item master, supplier records, etc.
- Administrator of all paperwork associated with area of Supply Chain responsibility.
- Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager negotiate claims and resolves complaints due to unacceptable goods/services with suppliers.
- Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager administer the activities associated with the P.A.C.K. processes which include executing run-out analysis and ensuring final disposition of obsolete materials.
- Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager proactively manage assigned suppliers utilizing a continuous improvement process which includes periodic evaluation of supplier performance, identification of areas for improvement and the implementation of corrective actions.
- As required, executes Supplier Evaluations and reports results both internally and to the suppliers.
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager in the analysis of market and industry conditions and in the development of supply strategy.
- Under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager develops RFP’s for assigned materials.
- Under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager reviews supplier proposals and recommend supply chain strategy.
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager with contract negotiations for implementation.
- In conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager meets with sales representatives and suppliers.
- Under the leadership of the Supply Chain Manager research and recommend alternate suppliers.
- Identify, achieve and report cost savings / avoidances activities and inventory levels versus goals.
- Develops and executes tracking reports (Commodity Pricing, Mix Analysis, Raw Material Usage,) for assigned and purchased commodities and categories.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- B.A. / B.S degree required (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or Business)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Average knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel), and ERP purchasing / planning / accounting systems.
- Institute of Supply Management Certification ISM certification and / or A.P.I.C.S (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification, preferred, not required.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- A wide degree of creativity, latitude and knowledge of sound decision making processes are expected.
- A high level of willingness to learn is expected of this individual along with strong teamwork skills.
- Collaborative team player. Ability to work across a matrix environment and all levels of the organization. Partner and work effectively with cross functional internal management and support teams on projects.
- Must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, both internally and externally, in resolving business issues.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and establishes facts.
- Ability to function independently, managing assigned planning and purchasing areas of responsibilities with a wide range of latitude and sound decision-making responsibility (with significant direction from Supply Chain Manager in one but not both areas).
