Job Description: Indorama Integrated Oxides & Derivatives is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Process Engineer at our Chocolate Bayou manufacturing unit located near Alvin, TX. In this role, you will represent Indorama’s vision and values to the unit’s contracted operating company. You will use engineering knowledge and skills to ensure that the unit maintains a high standard of operational excellence. You will be the process technology expert for Linear Alkyl Benzene across multiple business functions including environmental, health, safety, corporate compliance; sustainability; manufacturing; supply chain; logistics; product development and others as needed. What will be expected from you? Provide technical support to the Indorama manufacturing organization to ensure the Alvin, TX Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) Unit meets production goals safely, responsibly, and efficiently. Identify and implement manufacturing process improvement plans that will increase the safety, sustainability, and profitability, of the Linear Alkyl Benzene business. Support Environmental, Health, Safety (EH&S), Sustainability, and Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives, audits, and reports. Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with the unit’s contracted operator, Ascend Performance Materials, through a position of influence. Assist in the preparation and execution of budgets, forecasts, and schedules for Operating Expenses (OPEX); Capital Expenses (CAPEX), and major maintenance turnarounds (T/A). Lead feasibility analyses for process improvements, develop project scopes, economics, justifications, and create process design packages (PDP). Review, approve, and support the timely completion of recommendations from equipment inspections, audits, incident investigations, Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Layers of Protection Analyses, Root-Cause Analyses (RCA), Management of Change (MOC), and other EHS/PSM and related items. Assist with development and achievement of yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals for the unit’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including safety, compliance, production, reliability, efficiency. Represent the Linear Alkyl Benzene unit’s manufacturing team and support Indorama’s marketing, supply chain, technology, and customer service groups to increase the profitability and market share of the Linear Alkyl Benzene business. Attend and participate in industry forums, roundtables, and conventions to learn Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP), explore new process technologies, and develop advanced technical knowledge of the Linear Alkyl Benzene manufacturing process. Be present at the manufacturing site during business hours. Work additional hours or overtime as necessary. Collaborate with colleagues, contractors, vendors, and customers who will have diverse motivations, skills, knowledge, perspectives, and backgrounds. Assist other employees in accomplishments of Indorama’s company goals. Participate in and complete company-required training programs. Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor. What are we looking for in the ideal candidate? BSc. in an engineering discipline. Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred. 3 - 5 years of engineering experience in a petrochemical or refining environment preferred. Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for success. Proven analytical thinker with conceptual understanding and ability of applying experiences and knowledge to identify best solutions. Able to solve complex problems while identifying and managing available resources Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Able to build relationships across all organizational lines. Must be capable of resolving disagreements and disputes while maintaining positive professional relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Experience in the preparation and execution of operating budgets, capital projects, major maintenance turnarounds and training/staffing of the manufacturing organization. Strong background in cost accounting and cost control systems such as SAP. Experience in use and/or development of Process Simulation/Process Modeling and experience utilizing Six Sigma Methodology.
