Job Description:
As a DBA in the Technical Development group, you will work with a group of electrical, mechanical and software engineers on a variety of database related tasks. You will use Mongo
DB, SQL Server, or other similar database frameworks to design, develop and debug large and advanced geo-spatial databases. You will need the ability to take feedback and possible critiques and use those to better the products and services that we develop.
Ideally, the candidate will:

- have experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- have experience with git or other version control system

Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision
- Act as a lead for specific tasks and responsible for a portion of larger designs or in some cases full designs
- Coordinate and work with other Engineers and possibly other departments to define system specifications and requirements
- Develop, produce and maintain technical documentation and system specifications
- Conduct simulated field testing, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives as well as provide recommendations
- Develop and test software/firmware to support design and analysis of devices under test or development
- Develop, test and support production level software/firmware for devices in the field
- Provide support with software and hardware functional and quality testing
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications for DBA:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering or related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be accepted in leu of degree.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of related industry experience is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members
- Ability to independently manage time to meet project deadlines
- Strong background and foundational knowledge of software development
- Self-motivated and driven to meet long term goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for Quality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Work Environment:
While we work hard, we try to maintain a relaxed and enjoyable work environment that our team enjoys coming into every day. This position involves work typical of office environments which consists mostly of sitting at and using a computer. Occasionally it will be necessary to test devices in the field which may be at local testing grounds or remotely at customer sites. Travel is expected to be very minimal. Also, we have a nice espresso machine in the office!
