Job Description – Doubler Operator
Reports to: Area Supervisor
Position Summary
It is the responsibility of each operator to follow all job instructions and procedures to reduce error and insure a quality product. Maintain creels safely and efficiently.

Position Responsibilities
- Check instruction sheets before starting shift
- Obtain yarn from yarn boxes
- Obtain empty tubes from storage bins
- Use tube color specified on instruction sheet
- Place empty tubes on doubler
- Ensure that ends are properly threaded through tension and clearing devices
- Patrol job repairing ends down, creeling and doffing
- Check all splices
- Keep yarn path clean
- Check tube size for uniformity
- Check instruction sheet for splice type. Use only the proper splice type
- Fag any ends requiring technician attention
- Avoid yarn mixes, be alert
- Place empty cones in proper container. Clean up all bad work
- Place reworkable thread in proper container
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience
- Standing - 7 1/2 hours concrete floor
- Sitting - Two 20 minute breaks
- Moving - moves about in an area approximately _70’ x 100’, while performing duties;
no prolonged standing in single location
- Moving Materials – Pushes full boxes of yarn up and down winder alley while performing duties
- Hearing/Speaking - must be able to communicate with Fixers and Supervisors
- Reaching – Normal 3-4 feet
- Visual Acuity - Must be able to see quality and mechanical problems. Must not be color blind
- Bending /Stooping – Frequent bending to remove bobbins from yarn boxes.
- Lifting – No heavy lifting
