Job Summary:
The EHS Manager provides technical safety training and support to all personnel. This position will also, develop safety programs and provide technical support to the plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety health regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares and updates written safety and health programs and policies.
- Identifies company safety training needs and develops safety training programs.
- Develops annual company safety goals and communicates to VP of Safety.
- Assists in new process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
- Assists plant engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
- Perform ongoing safety training for all temp and permanent employees per OSHA regulations.
- Maintains corporate safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
- Promotes safety and health awareness through internal communication.
- Manages the safety committee, safety fairs and safety engagement events.
- Assists in reviewing process-operating procedures/records and provides input for safety and security considerations.
- Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
- Advises staff of regulatory changes with which the plants must comply.
- Audits practices and records of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and environmental regulations.
- Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims. Tracks TRIR, Dart and W/C performance and participates in Quarterly reviews.
- Investigates accidents and near-miss incidents and assist with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions including the generation of safety work orders.
- Create and maintain safety SOPs.
- Identify PPE and safety equipment needs throughout the facility, order and maintain PPE/Safety equipment supply.
- Perform various audits and inspections to include Fire Extinguisher, Eye Wash stations and assist the Quality Department with GMP audits.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; NOT required.
- OSHA 30 required.
- Must be open to working 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high intensity environment. Experience working in a high-speed packaging and automated processes is a plus.
- Communication skills and ability to speak/ present in front of groups.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and has a sense of urgency.
- 3 years of experience in Safety and Security in a Food & Beverage Manufacturing Facility is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
