Job Summary
The Human Resources Specialist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities and will support important functions such as leave of absences, compensation and benefits, training and development, and new employee experience.
The Human Resources Specialist will undertake a wide range of tasks such as organizing training, administering employee benefits and leaves, and crafting HR policies.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations.
- Support HR objectives and systems, including queries, reports, and audits.
- Provide effective and dedicated HR advisory on leaves, vacation, and PTO.
- Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
- Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the effectiveness of HR department and company.
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook and organizational chart.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
Qualifications and Experience
- Leave management and know of applicable leave laws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills who possesses the ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and across departments.
- Understanding of general Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
- Aptitude in problem solving.
- Advanced software skills in Word, Excel, and HRIS systems preferred.
- 5 years Human Resource experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is low.
