SUMMARY:
The non-CDL driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering materials to the customer in a box truck with a GVW of less than 26,000 lbs., as well as providing general assistance in the warehouse as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction and service is provided for all activities under his/her control.
- Maintain thevehicle in conformity with J&L maintenance standards while presenting a professional image to all customers.
- Perform pre-operational checks, change liquified gas tanks for and operate lift truck to assist in loading or moving materials.
- Accurately check and record all materials loaded and unloaded from the vehicle and initialpaperwork.
- Ensure that the daily delivery schedule is adhered to and that any deviations or problems are reported to the Warehouse/Branch Manager.
- Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, including the daily vehicle checklist, and trip reports as required or requested.
- Ensure the security of the vehicle and warehouse whenever possible.
- Deliver customer bulletins, specials, brochures, etc. when stipulated by the Warehouse/Branch Manager.
- Collect COD shipments when necessary.
- Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Properly secure cargo during transit.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), at least one year related warehouse/driving experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Able to lift 100 pounds.
- Able to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift and possess a safe driving record.

- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficiency with basic math skills.
