Job description
J.P. Farley Corporation is looking for an energetic, compassionate, hard-working team player to join our growing fast-paced office. The Operational Accounting & Internal Auditing Specialist ensures smooth running of the company's daily accounting, ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, suggests improvements to operations, and contributes to the company's ongoing growth and success.
Essential Functions – Audit
- Develop annual internal audit plans
- Identify and assess areas of significant business risk
- Obtain, analyze, and evaluate evidence related to the effectiveness of company policies and procedures
- Prepare and present reports reflecting the audit’s results and any recommended actions
- Identify issues and recommend mitigation measures
- Conduct follow-up audits to monitor progress
- Conduct ad-hoc investigations into identified or reported risks
- Supervision of planned annual SOC and HIPAA audits
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions – Accounting
- Post receipt of payments from clients to the appropriate accounts
- Generate and distribute payments to vendors via check and ACH
- Regularly reconcile client claim accounts
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment
This job operates in a fast-paced professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Additional Qualifications
- BS degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Two years of related accounting and audit experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience
- Knowledge of auditing standards
- Ability to work with large sets of data and to compile detailed reports
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and responsibilities
