POSITION SUMMARY
The Controller will plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions. The controller will manage employees in the accounting department. The controller must be able to perform all job duties in accordance with the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Oversees the daily workflow of the accounting department.
· Oversee that required debt payments are made accurately and on time.
· Process administrative payroll.
· Establishes, implements and communicates the strategic direction of the company’s operations division.
· Implement disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
· Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company financial goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
· Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organizations goals and objectives by providing financial analysis as needed.
· Identifies, recommends and implements new processes, technologies and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
· Create and examine accuracy of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and distribute financial statements.
· Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, efficiencies and facilities are in line with the company’s plan and vision.
· Establishes, communicates and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards.
· Reviews and approves expense reports while analyzing cost-control measures for the departments.
· Collaborate with executive staff to create and manage annual budget.
· Calculate variances from budget and report significant discrepancies to management.
· Work with general ledger functions including month end/year end close processes.
· Presents periodic performance reports and metrics for the CEO and other leadership.
· Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.
· Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
