Container Gardener

We are an established, professional horticulture organization dedicated to creating premier properties and building lasting relationships throughout the central Virginia region. We are now accepting applications for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and trustworthy individual to join the container gardening group within our Gardening Services Department. This is a full-time position encompassing 32 to 40 hours per week primarily Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with container garden installations.
• Assist with pruning, watering, and fertilizing container gardens.
• Load and unload work trucks.
• Operate and utilize basic landscape tools, such as blowers, pruners, spades, and hoses.
• Drive pick-up trucks and large work trucks for deliveries and jobs.

Requirements:

• Ability and desire to work in outdoor conditions
• Ability to work 8- to 10-hour shifts, depending on the season
• Ability to work in both a team environment and independently
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Valid Virginia driver’s license
• Ability and willingness to drive large work trucks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Gardening: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
