- JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the job is to design automation/robotics engineering projects in the area of fully integrated complex systems (AR/VR type products) including mechanical, electrical, electronics and software application.
The Automation/ Robotics Design Engineer reviews and analyzes project requirements, specification, plan, design and installation.
This position is responsible for the design of automation or robotics equipment to ensure stipulated specifications and requirements are met and delivered within budget and on time.
This position supports the Lead Engineer of respective area in design of automation and robotics equipment.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs automation equipment in respective areas of expertise, e.g., Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, or Software Application.
Works closely with Project Manager/Engineer to meet project timeline and within budget.
Reviews, understands and interprets requirements/specification accurately for integration into design of equipment.
Ensures design for manufacturability.
Acts as liaison with internal and/or external Assemblers/manufacturer of equipment to ensure all parts are manufactured to the design.
Generates design drawings, installation manual, and user manual.
Ensures all engineering times are logged into tracking system correspondent to the projects.
Supports, diagnoses and corrects robotic assembly equipment in a
manufacturing environment.
Work with hardware and software developers to improve tools, documentation and robot design.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in computer science/Computer Engineering/or equivalent degree is desired

Minimum of 5 years equipment support experience required

Proficiency in Linux Command Line (Z-Shell, Bash)

Strong understanding and experience in Python and Shell Script

Strong data gathering and analytical skills

Excel proficiency including pivot tables

Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in automation / robotics equipment design and installation.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

Experienced functional knowledge of mechanical/electronics/electrical/software application engineering.

Experienced functional knowledge of EMS industries.

Experienced functional knowledge of automation and robotics equipment assembly and installation.
